Niové
Wood type
African niové wood is a somewhat unknown tropical hardwood species, but it is certainly a full-fledged alternative to classic woods such as bankirai or padouk.
Niové has a beautiful orange- to red-brown colour and it is also a very hard wood species that does not deform much during the drying process. As a result, this hardwood is classified in durability class 2 and can be considered durable. Freshly felled, niové gives off a slight pepper smell.
