Wood type
Moabi wood is a tropical hardwood originating from the forests of West Africa. It is in durability class 1 and is recognisable by its brownish pink to brownish red colour.
Moabi wood is very stable after drying and hardly warps at all. It therefore has a very even structure and is mainly used outdoors such as in the production of windows and doors, coachbuilding, parquet and carpentry. Moabi is only imported into Belgium as FAS top quality (First and Second, free of defects such as heart, sapwood and others). You can buy moabi wood from Denderwood as glued window pegs and as sawn tropical wood.
