Dark Red Meranti Nemesu
Wood type
Of all meranti species, nemesu is the one with the highest volumetric mass and hardness. In fact, it has a hardness of no less than 825 N while the bulk density is between 640-860 kg/m³. This makes nemesu not only the heaviest dark red meranti variant but also the most durable.
High-quality nemesu meranti is in durability class 2. The colour is traditionally red to dark red, with a slight violet tinge. It is also easy to saw, plane and finish. Drying takes slightly longer than for other meranti species, due to its higher bulk density. Fact: nemesu is sometimes called the king of meranti.
Nemesu is suitable for exterior joinery.
