About Denderwood

Denderwood is a family business with more than 100 years of experience within the timber sector on the counter. Our story began in 1904, when the D'Haeseleer brothers, driven by their passion for wood, decided to cut trees together in and around the Erondegem region. What started modestly at the time soon grew into a story of craftsmanship and passion, and in 1919 the decision was made to specialise in the artisanal production of wooden wagon wheels and folk games.

Then finally, in 1955, the first major transformation took place: a local timber trade sprang up from the now 41-year-old company. This developed tremendously fast in the following years and started importing Asian timber in the mid-1960s. In order to continue meeting all requirements and operate professionally, the company was renamed Houthandel D'Haeseleer PVBA in 1971. 13 years later, however, the company had outgrown itself, necessitating a new name change and company form. Therefore, in 1984, the D'Haeseleer family chose to transform the company into the name it still carries today, namely Denderwood NV.

The year 1989 marked a period of change and growth. Denderwood NV and Houthandel D'Haeseleer decided to continue independently. In 2011, we welcomed a new addition to our family: DDW Hardwoods BVBA was born. We are proud to say that we are now more than ten years on, with our company constantly evolving and innovating.

In 2022, DDW Hardwoods launched a new 5-hectare production and distribution site in Neufchâteau, Wallonia. This strategically chosen location acts as an optimal distribution point for the French, German, Luxembourg and Walloon markets. The aim of this expansion is to optimise our wood distribution. This expansion is not just a new physical location, but rather a symbolic step in the progress and forward-looking vision of DDW Hardwoods. We aim to have a lasting impact on the timber industry, while now being able to provide our customers with our own high-quality products and quality.

Today, Denderwood is headed by Filip D'Haeseleer. Our dedicated team strives to serve our customers in a sustainable and helpful way, providing high-quality products that meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and environmental responsibility.
